A German Shepherd is a large, strong dog, normally dark coloured in shades of black brown and blue, often trained for public service in police forces etc. A German Shepherd is sometimes said to resemble a wolf, although they are much smaller, but they are tremendous dogs for training purposes, and are also excellent at protecting a family home. However they can be instinctively suspicious of strangers.
