As the Greyhound is still used for dog racing and sports, it is fairly obvious the breed was developed for speed. They are lithe and athletic, with a streamlined body and stature. A greyhound is normally an incredibly friendly dog, although they can become quite shy and reserved, but rarely will you find a greyhound that is not a wonderful companion.
